TCG Ord. Chapter 17 requires all non-metallic mining sites to have an annual permit from the Town. The County also requires them to have a conditional use permit, although 2 of our 3 sites were in existence before that requirement, so they are grandfathered in (non-conforming sites). Town permits run from July 1 to June 30th. The Clerk sends out renewal information usually in April. A public hearing is held at the first Town Board meeting in June each year, and the Town Board considers approval of the permits at their meeting to follow. There is an email sign-up on the Town's web site for those who wish to be notified of the annual renewal meetings and any other related agenda items that may come up throughout the year.
